Atlantic Sapphire welcomes new CFO and deputy CEO

Starting July 1, Gunnar Aasbo-Skinderhaug will be Atlantic Sapphire ASA’s chief financial officer (CFO) and deputy chief executive officer to strengthen its leadership team.

Karl Øystein Øyehaug has stepped down from his position as CFO of Atlantic Sapphire and will remain in the role until Aasbo-Skinderhaug relocates to Florida. 

Aasbo-Skinderhaug joins Atlantic Sapphire from Cermaq Norway where he worked as director. He has over 15 years of experience in the seafood industry and salmon farming.

“The demand for salmon is strong while the industry’s supply cannot keep up. The future of salmon farming includes significant production volumes from land-based farms, and Atlantic Sapphire has long experience and a unique position to serve the greatest salmon market in the world with premium salmon,” Aasbo-Skinderhaug said.

 Aasbo-Skinderhaug has held many operational executive roles in the Norway and worked on operational improvements in the Norwegian and Chilean operations of Cermaq. Aasbo-Skinderhaug has more than 10 years experience as CFO, as well as several years of experience with land-based farming.

Andersen, chairman of the board of Atlantic Sapphire. 

Andersen thanked Øyehaug for his contribution to the company over the past six years.
