Norwegian land-based fish farmer, Salmon Evolution has reported good operational performance and harvest results for the first quarter of 2024.
In its Q1 2024 operational update, it reported a total harvest volume of 901 tonnes Head-on-gutted (HOG) with an average weight of approximately 4.6 kg.
The net biomass was about 1,560 tonnes LW, up 8 per cent from Q4 2023. Salmon Evolution said it recorded a high-standing biomass of almost 2,700 tonnes LW end of the quarter.
“In the first quarter we had an industry-leading superior grade share of 96 per cent, continuing to demonstrate excellent fish welfare,” said Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen, chief executive officer of Salmon Evolution.
The company says its Q2 harvest volumes are expected in the range of 1,600 – 1,800 tonnes HOG. “With Q2 harvest volumes expected to double from Q1, Salmon Evolution is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the current record high salmon prices,” Schaug-Pettersen said.
