Salmon Evolution needs apprentices for Indre Harøy RAS facility

Are you looking to gain valuable hands-on skills and experience at a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility? If your answer is yes, then you better check out a recent call for apprentices made by Norway-based aquaculture company, Salmon Evolution.

The company, runs a giant, land-based salmon farm in Indre Harøy, in the west coast of Norway. Salmon Evolution expects the Phase 1 to produce an annual capacity of 9,000 tons of salmon. Phase 2 will add a further 7,900 tons HOG (head-on-gutted) of annual production.

“We are looking for apprentices in our grow-out facility at Indre Harøy,” a post in the company’s LinkedIn page said. “This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the land based aquaculture industry.”

The company also said apprenticeship at the facility is a “unique opportunity to take part in developing and shaping the future of aquaculture globally and at least be part of a talented team Organized working hours, and eventually apprentices can enter attractive rotation arrangements.”

Applicants need to have completed VG2 aquaculture, VG3 automation or VG2 chemical process subjects and are fluent in Norwegian. Desired personal characteristics include: conscientiousness, a good team player, interest in the industry, tidy and structured.

Deadline for submission of applications is March 1, 2023.
