Monitoring RAS Water Quality
By Natalie Redman – Water and Environmental Chemistry Lab Manager
Water quality monitoring is an integral part of RAS management to ensure systems are operating effectively and optimal conditions are achieved. Poor water quality can be detrimental to fish health and ultimately lead to production loss. Confidence in water quality monitoring programs is essential to ensure data accuracy and precision. Important parameters, sampling routines and procedures, testing equipment and methodology, and quality assurance will be discussed with particular focus on interpretation of water quality data.
