The Kingfish Company is joining forces with Norwegian digital solutions company, Maritech, to enable its aspirations to scale up production.

“We are scaling our business and need new tools that enable us to reach our goals,” according to Cees Jan Bastiaansen, head of quality and sustainability at The Kingfish Company. “Our core requirements were to find a system that can be operated in an international environment, is scalable and is designed for seafood processing.” He said that after a thorough research of the field, “we found Maritech most likely to be the best fit.”
Maritech is a provider of software to the seafood industry. The company develops digital solutions for controlling, tracking, and digitalization of all processes in the seafood value chain. Through its acquisition of Timpex in 2019, Maritech also became specialists in software for transport and logistics. In 2020 and 2021, the company acquired the Internet of things (IoT) company Lillebakk AS, EDI-Systems, a supplier of solutions for third-party logistics, and the seafood analysis company Sea Data Center based in Iceland.
The Kingfish company posted solid gains in 2022 for its operations in the Netherlands and is also looking forward to the approval of its recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility in Jonesport, Maine.
The aquaculture company is now using Maritech’s packaging and purchase and sales cloud-based software. The software company will also deliver its LINSiGHT. MES, a manufacturing execution system, which will be installed at The Kingfish Company’s land-based fish farm in Zeeland, NL.
“We have optimized our workflow, since Maritech is fully integrated and absorbs the side-stream of information,” said  Bastiaansen. “We are very satisfied with both the result and the implementation project. The project management was key to success as we realize the system’s full potential.”
“We are proud that The Kingfish Company chose Maritech,” said Klas Vangen, vice president of sales for Maritech. “They are a highly innovative and technology-driven company, producing premium products, sustainably farmed.”
