March 31, 2020  By  Nestor Arellano

Pure Salmon Poland has received an endorsement for its fish produce from the Ocean Wise Seafood program.

AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies Ltd. and private equity fund 8F Asset Management co-own Pure Salmon Poland which produces and sells Atlantic salmon.

“Now, more than ever, we understand the importance of promoting a sustainable and disease-free environment, especially in food production, and we have been making every effort to achieve just that. These endorsements are a confirmation that we are providing a safe, traceable environment that is also environmentally-friendly,” said Eran Huppert, general director of Pure Salmon Poland.

Ocean Wise is a conservation program that promotes sustainable seafood production.

The acknowledgement from Ocean Wise follows a recent certification  received by the Pure Salmon facility for responsible farming by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). ASC is an independent labeling organization establishing protocols for farmed seafood.

Pure Salmon Poland is one of the few fully-operational land-based commercial facilities that produce and market Atlantic salmon of 4kg and above, according to the company.

The facility uses AquaMaof‘s recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology.

The facility also houses a research and training centre. It is one of a series of facilities worldwide that are being developed by Pure Salmon and 8F Asset Management.
