AquaMaof expands capabilities with new salmon R&D specialist

AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies Ltd. has announced the appointment of Dr. John F. Taylor, salmonid biology expert, as the company’s salmon research and development (R&D) specialist. In this position, Taylor will serve under AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies’ CTO, and will broadly support the company’s operational departments.

With this appointment, AquaMaof will expand its R&D and technological capabilities through leveraging Taylor’s expertise. Taylor will lead and assist in the development of optimally-designed, land-based recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facilities, and assimilate his specific knowledge of the salmon field, into aspects of facility operation, design, and R&D.

With more than 20 years of both educational and working aquaculture industry experience, Taylor comes to AquaMaof after working at the University of Stirling as a senior lecturer in salmonid biology in the Breeding & Nutrition Group of the Institute of Aquaculture, since 2016. Taylor’s portfolio of research expertise includes titles such as ‘Impacts of RAS technology on salmonid development and smolt robustness’, ‘Improvement of production traits and commercialization of triploid salmon’, and ‘Evaluation of genotype x environment interactions on key performance traits’.
