RAS supplier Artec Aqua names new VP for projects

Land-based aquaculture supplier Artec Aqua has named a former executive of a maritime systems provider as the vice-president of its project department. Artec Aqua develops recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) and flow-through technologies.

Artec Aqua announced that Asbjørn Skaro will oversee the company’s growth and push for the international market as Artec’s new VP of Projects.

“If we are to rig the company for further growth in the short and long term, we are dependent on people with expertise who can complement us, and therefore we are very happy to have Asbjørn Skaro in the management team,” Ingegjerd Eidsvik, chief executive office of Artec, said. “With Asbjørn Skaro we get a leader who has solid experience from project organizations, and with his international top management experience we will be even better equipped when we go international.”

Skaro was former senior vice-president for business development and global customer support at Kongsberg Maritime. Kongsberg Maritime delivers systems for positioning, surveying, navigation and automation to merchant vessels and offshore installations.

Skaro has held various management positions in Rolls Royce Marine since 2005 and for the past six years has been part of the top management at Rolls Royce Marine/Kongsberg Maritime.

Prior to his time at Rolls Royce, he was a project manager at Holte Prosjekt Consulting AS, where he was also part of the management team. Skaro has a master’s degree in engineering from NTNU in Trondheim.
