Meeting Postponed

Due to the new variant of COVID-19 – Omicron and the extensive restrictions being put in place and more restrictions projected, we are postponing AFRAQ21 to 2022. We are verifying dates in late March or mid-May but wanted to give you the decision to postpone as soon as possible. We will try to confirm new dates by the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

We will not be doing any refunds at this time but all registrations, abstracts and exhibitor contracts will be continued on to the new dates.

Please note:

  • Registration is open. Complete the online registration form
  • Submission of abstracts and full papers has now been extended to 15th October 2021. All abstracts already submitted are valid and will be processed accordingly.
  • Limited space is available for interested tradeshow exhibitors. Please contact: mario@marevent.com
  • We urge participants to get vaccinated to reduce COVID-19 risks.
  • Should there be any changes, this will be communicated to all

Conference Venue

The venue will be the famous Bibliotheca Alexandrina, one of the most fascinating touristic and cultural attractions in the world. The conference offers a great opportunity for aquaculture researchers, practitioners, decision makers and other stake holders to meet, network and discuss all aspects of aquaculture in Africa. Exhibitors from all over the globe are expected to exhibit their products in the amazing exhibition Center. Visits to the most famous touristic attractions in Egypt will be arranged. Special excursionary visits will also be arranged to nearby fish farms, fish feed mills and local research facilities. Be sure to schedule time for this unique scientific, business and social event.

AFRAQ2021 Programme Themes

AFRAQ2021 technical program will aim to cover developmental issues including latest research on aquaculture in Africa. The thematic plenary and technical parallel sessions will comprise submitted oral and poster presentations. AFRAQ2021 will feature an international trade exhibition, industry forums, student sessions and activities, satellite workshops (and training sessions) and various meetings/forums on aquaculture development in Egypt and Africa. The theme for this inaugural event will be “Sustainable Aquaculture – Feeding Africa”.
