Consumer goods pro lands COO post at Stolt Sea Farm

Land-based aquaculture company Stolt Sea Farm has named a long-time executive in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector as its new chief commercial officer (COO).

Markus Zender will take his post effective May 11. Hie will lead the company’s sales and marketing strategy.

Zender’s appointment is part of the turbot and sole producer’s push towards strengthening its customer division, according to Jordi Trias, president of Stolt Sea Farm.

“We have ambitious growth and expansion plans for the coming years, and his (Zender’s) experience will be key to our success,” Trias said. “We have recently invested in improving our offering to customers by increasing the hours that our customer service team is available and implementing Salesforce’s world-leading CRM platform to enhance the way that we capture new opportunities and improve customer experience.”

Zender has a wealth of experience in the FMCG sector, according to Stolt Sea Farm.

He held senior roles at the German flower, plant and vegetable cooperative Landgard Fruit & Vegetables Holding Ltd and pre-packaged meat product manufacturer Abbelen Holding Ltd.

Zender also gained experience in the fresh sea food market sector as CCO at Natsu Foods Ltd. & Co. KG, a specialist in the production of pre-packed fresh food including sushi, sandwiches and wraps.
