Former special projects director of global aquaculture company Atlantic Sapphire, Bruno Sardenberg, will be employing his recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) expertise to help Ocean Harvest of the United Arab Emirates push forward its latest RAS project.

Early this week, Sardenberg had announced in his LinkedIn profile that he has taken the position of director of production with Ocean Harvest. The company is a land-based aquaculture start-up that is based in Abu Dhabi. He said his last day with Atlantic Sapphire was June 24th.

“I’m excited to announce that I have started on a new role as Director of Production with Ocean Harvest in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates,” he said in his LinkedIn page. “I’ll be leading Ocean Harvest Phase 1 project development and joining the leadership team in shaping the future of the Company.”

Ocean Harvest is part of a consortium made up of Tech Group, a UAE-based diversified group of companies, and the Belgian construction group BESIX. The group intends to produce 2,000 metric tons per year of premium quality, locally grown, Atlantic salmon to the UAE. Ocean Harvest designs its own farms from scratch and sources equipment from industry-leading suppliers.

Sardenberg was director of special projects for the Miami-based operations of Atlantic Sapphire for more than four years. His responsibilities included coordinating internal and external partnerships, management of design and construction projects.

As director of production of Ocean Harvest, Sardenberg will lead project management and supervision of facility design as well as construction and operation. His responsibilities will include production planning, supplier selection, farming operations, all the way to post-harvest processing and customer delivery.
